The CSV Bulk posting feature lets you post content across multiple locations.
The first thing you wanna do to reach this functionality is click on the Bulk Posting menu on top of the screen and select the CSV option.
What you need to do next is to click the ‘View example’ link that will give you the CSV file that you need to open using Google sheets. Remember to also click ‘View remote IDs’ to obtain that data vital to the posting feature - these IDs will distinguish your locations in the spreadsheet that you will upload later. It’s very important not to use Excel or other spreadsheets managing software as it corrupts the formatting.
Go to Google sheets, File, Open, select the example file from your hard drive and you’re ready to get started.
What you see once you open the file is some example data. To specify the location use the IDs you now possess from the ‘View remote IDs’ link.
Row 12 hints you whether this column is required for doing posts and if it is - what types of posts do require it. For example, Event and Offer post types require a title. Rows 13 and 14 specify additional information.
Remember that each row is a single GBP post. For a plain Standard post you need only location id, title, summary (which is the post content) and topic type (which stands for the post type).
If you want to shoot an Event or Offer posts you need to remember that some additional post type specific attributes are required - in this case that’s start and end for time and date - without it the post won’t get submitted. Mind the format - it differs from the usual - and requires day to be specified before month. Don’t use forward slashes - do it the exact same way that’s shown in the example.
All other options are not required - it’s up to you to add a CTA button, a coupon or offer terms.
We also have the language code. Most everybody is using English, however if you're using a different language you will input your code there.
Then we have the image URL - make sure that it ends in either ‘.jpg’ or ‘.png’ - it has to be a direct link.
The scheduled_at field is used if you want to schedule a post. When blank, the post will go out immediately, but if you wish to schedule it, pay attention to the format. The recurrent_days and recurrent_expire_count are required for recurring posts and indicate the interval between posts and number of post repetitions respectively.
The last but not least - make sure to remove all example data before exporting your document to a CSV file. Once uploaded, it will get processed and your posts will populate corresponding locations. In case you do something wrong and an error appears - read what the system tells you - most likely it can easily be fixed by filling in required fields or using the right date format. Still not sure? You can hit delete and we’ll wipe it all out across locations.
