The Linda Local application allows you to add competitor businesses to your account to see how they rank in your area both for the keywords and GeoGrids.
Click the "Locations" link in the top navigation bar, then click the "Add new location" button on the bottom left.
You will see a map with two options for searching a new location by business name and by keyword. Please note, that searching location by business name doesn't work for Service Area Businesses (SABs) due to technical limitations. Search by keywords works both for SABs and storefront businesses.
Searching location by business name
Select the "By business name" tab, type the name of your competitor into the "Location name" field and select the business from the dropdown below the field.
You will see the detailed description of the business and the map will zoom to it.
Click the "Confirm" button and the location will be added to your Linda Local account.
Searching location by keyword
If searching locations searches for the businesses all over the world, the search by keyword looks for the businesses in the specific area. Besides the fact it allows searching for the Service Area Businesses, it allow adding several businesses at once.
Select the "By keyword" tab. Start typing the name of the area where your competitor is located in the "Place to search in" field, then select the value from the dropdown below.
Type the keyword in the "Keyword" field and click the "Search" button.
The map will zoom in the specified area and the list of matching businesses will be displayed below the keyword field.
You need to select the business or the businesses you were looking for and then click the "Confirm" button. The businesses will be added to your Linda Local account.
Once locations are added, you can set up the keyword tracking for them.
Note: manually added locations won't be synchronized to your Google account and you won't be able to post anything to them.
