By default, the Linda Local application tracks keywords using the data from the GBP listing:

  • the website URL;

  • the area where the business is located, for Service Area Businesses this search location is calculated automatically;

  • the search language is the official language of the country of business.

You can fine tune this settings manually.

Please note: It won't affect you listing data on the Google side.

  1. Click the "Locations" link in the top navigation bar.

  2. Click your listing and click the "Keywords" link in the side menu on the left.

  3. Click the blue button with a gear icon on the right.

  4. The "Keyword tracking options" panel will open.

  5. The "URL to track" option defines the way the Linda Local application is tracking the website URL of the listing.
    The default option is "Entire Website URL (including domain and path parts)", but you can change it to "Only Website URL domain".
    How does it work?
    For example, your listing URL is "https://mybusiness.com/example?utm_source=gbp&utm_medium=listing&utm_campaign=google-business-profile".
    If you've chosen the "Entire Website URL (including domain and path parts)" the keyword tracker will be looking for this exact URL minus the UTM parameters: "https://mybusiness.com/example". But if you change it to the "Only Website URL domain" the keyword tracker will be considering all links pointing to all pages at the "https://mybusiness.com" domain.

  6. The "Default check frequency" allows setting the default check frequency value in the "Add keywords" form. It doesn't affect the existing keywords and can be altered manually on the "Add keywords" form.

  7. The "Search language" option allows to specify the language for the keyword tracking algorithm. Please note: set the language explicitly only if the business name language differs from the business country language. Otherwise the search results might be inaccurate.

  8. The "Search location" option allows setting the custom location for keyword tracking. If you want to change the default one, you need to type into the "Search location" field the desired location, then select the location from the dropdown below.

    You will get something like this:

  9. Once you are done with settings, click the "Set" button below.

  10. The "Keyword tracking options" panel will close and you will see the updated tracking settings on the "Keywords" tab.

    Please note: updating keyword ranks according to the new settings might take some time, up to 48 hours.
